Our History

Founded in 1958 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as “AWALCO” by Late. Mr. Shaheen Saqer Shaheen Saqer; today known as Shaheen Group is one of the most esteemed industrial firms facilitating services across the different segments of construction activities in the Kingdom.


Early Years

Late. Mr. Shaheen with his astute vision with AWALCO became the pioneers of Air conditioning works in the kingdom for Window AC units. With materials procured from USA & assembled in Bahrain at our premises in Mina Salman and Ducting systems manufactured in-house in our factory, the customers were given the best of services.

Being a visionary, he also initiated the service & maintenance departments to extend support to our esteemed clients for after-sales assistance. With the advancement of technology, we grew into providing Central Air-conditioning units to our customers with brands as McQuay, Miller, RHEEM joining the list of products on offer from Awalco. In the mid 1980’s, it also ventured into Ventilation / exhaust systems (fans) from GREENHECK. Over the years, AWALCO had partnered with many prestigious commercial and residential development projects in the kingdom.

Expansion and Diversification

In Mid 1970’s

With, M/s. Gypsum Products & Trading SPC, the company began its operations from a small shop in Gudaibiyah with the vision to provide “Excellence, Quality, Performance and Reliability” related to all supply & installation of GYPSUM / GRC / GRG works in the Kingdom. The team has always valued & understood the taste of our esteemed clients. The division has evolved over the years with the use of traditional systems combined with the contemporary techniques with efficiency & comfort.

In Mid 1980’s

A new segment came into existence by the name M/s. GULF SERVICES SPC which used to extend it’s offerings in the field of Fire brigade, Fire alarm systems across the kingdom & we take pride to continue the legacy even now with more offerings in the field of engineering including Boilers, Coring activities, RMU’s & RTU’s, Smart meters etc.

As a part of business restructuring, the management decided to consolidate its core business activities into SHAHEEN GROUP BSC Closed Company. All services combined under one group to serve complete turnkey solutions for our distinguished clients.

M/s. Shaheen electromechanical originated with the prime emphasis on providing services for air-conditioning, duct and water tank cleaning, fire safety, security systems. At Shaheen Group we believed for any product and installed system, “After-Sales Service” is essential in assuring proper operation and prolonging the working life of the installation. Shaheen Electromechanical is the dedicated department, with on call 24/7 multi-disciplinary service teams ready to provide assistance. With over 175 staff we offer service contracts, retro-fittings and (emergency) repairs, assuring your AC – or any other installation – is fully operational at any time.

These global brands originates from U.S.A, Germany, Turkey & many other geographical locations within the Shaheen Group portfolio.
